Bike Tours in Algarve

Starting in the beautiful surrounding of Quinta do Lago, by the Ria Formosa to Faro beach, this easy going cycling tour is suitable for all ages and cycling levels! Explore an intricate maze of islands, marshes, lagoons and plenty of wildlife along the way! The trail is lovely and wooded, so you’ll be protected by lush forests taking you to the amazing salt pans. As we continue our journey into Faro, you’ll get to see the University Marine Project! Amazing views along lakes may provide you with views of flamingos! From here we will arrive at Faro beach, a great location with a variety of cafes and restaurants. We’ll stop here to recharge and enjoy a coffee, fresh orange juice or a yummy Pastel de Nata (not included). After this it’s time to cycle along the dyke in Quinta do Lago. A leisurely jogging and cycling trail, you will always be accompanied by natural surroundings and beautiful landscapes. This is a great tour if you are a beginner, or coming out as a family, as the trail goes along calm roads and dirt tracks.

A great combination of sea views and cycling in nature! Our tour begins at the center of Albufeira, taking you along trails leading to the famous vineyards of Cliff Richards! We’ll cycle along the lagoon in Salgados, where you will frequently find varied birds and if you’re lucky a sea turtle or more! The cycling trail is along boardwalks that lead you along lovely beaches and landscapes. At this point, and due to the rocky nature of the coastal trail we veer a bit inland and explore the trails along the Albufeira Marina taking down to the cobblestones of the old town and the end of our tour

A true adventure if you are willing to challenge yourself! Our guides pride themselves on knowing the best cycling trails that lead you to the most beautiful views, so join us on this full day tour! Get ready to start early with transfers to Vila Real de Santo Antonio, right on the border with Spain! We’ll start you off with some cycling along flat trails on the coast leading you to Monte Gordo, Altura and Mata Rota. You’ll want to take out your camera for the spectacular views in the quaint little seaside towns of Cacela Velha and Fabrica! As we continue our tour on dirt tracks, we will reach the lovely Cabanas de Tavira, where we will make our first stop for a coffee break (not included). 

After some relaxing and recharging, we cycle west, by the towns of Santa Luzia and Pedras del Rei and Praia do Barril, taking us to the heart of the Ria Formosa Park. A known UNESCo Heritage Site, this expanse of over 60 kilometers boasts the most varied fauna, flora and wildlife in the Algarve, so be prepared to explore unspoilt nature including lagoos, water channels, deserted islands and salt marshes. Our next stops are in Olhao and Fuseta. The first is a known fishing town and home to the annual Seafood Festival in August. The trails lead you along a variety of cafes and restaurants by the RIa where we will stop for lunch (not included). On our way to Quinta do Lago, we will cycle along behind the airport in Faro, in search of flamingos!

Quinta do Lago is our next stop. A resort made up of beautiful beaches and golf courses, the trails here are quite leisurely and will guide us to the seafront of Quarteira and Vilamoura. here we will hop off our bikes and have a well deserved post tour drink!

Escape the beaches and bustle of the tourists and come explore the more traditional part of the Algarve! Surrounded by lovely greenery, working farms  and calm landscapes, Paderne offers excellent cycling conditions and a peaceful day out in nature! Paderne offers some wonderful cycling tracks that take you along lovely orchards and fields, allowing you to breathe in the fresh country air. We will cycle along until we reach the quaint little village of Alte for a bit of a rest and a coffee break (not included). During our stop we will allow for some free time to go exploring! On our way back to Paderne, you will get to cycle past Rocha Amarela, which is an ancient village in peaceful settings and offering you spectacular views. The remainder of the ride can be a bit challenging but the viewpoints along the way will be your reward! This is one of the most picturesque trails we offer!

We will start your tour with a van transfer uphill to the highest point of the Monchique mountains. From here you will get to see spectacular views of the western and southern coasts. Our guides will show you the best and most scenic routes ensuring your time with us is filled with fantastic photo opportunities! Along the way, the van will be with us, so that you can enjoy a refreshing drink of water. Midway through the tour, we will stop and serve you a delicious picnic lunch. This normally consists of vegetable soup, a tuna pasta salad with veggies, and some fresh orange juice. In summer months we tend to vary our lunch by serving a cool gazpacho with juice and some fresh fruit grown locally. After lunch, we will continue our downhill tour to the starting point!

If you are looking for a bit of a challenge, you will not want to miss this tour! Though it is a downhill tour, the tracks we follow are a bit more difficult than the previous tour and will take you along forests and water channels into lovely farming lands. Gravel roads will lead you past windmills and forests full of eucalyptus trees, and farmers frequently come out to say hello to passing cyclists! We also organize a delicious lunch midway at a local tavern, and after lunch we will challenge you to an uphill trail leading you past the Algarve Autodrome and back into beautiful natural landscapes surrounding the Alvor Ria

We’ve created a really great route that suits all cycling levels, so if you’re not very experienced, but would still love to cycle along some of the most beautiful locations in the hills of the Algarve, this is the tour to book! Surrounded by dense greenery and a serene atmosphere, this tour will take you away from the busy tourist locations and into a natural environment with fresh country air and tradition and culture of the region! This is a delightful ride in which you will barely find any cars around you and the distance will seem shorter than it actually is! Midway we will stop at a local cafe (not included), in which you can enjoy some coffee or juice and dig into the delicious toasted sandwiches it’s known for! The tour back will take you along the outskirts of Paderne between orchards and fields and a pleasant downhill trail taking you back to Albufeira
