All about the Walking Tours in Northern Portugal.

Walking in Northern Portugal gives you the chance to explore outstanding natural surroundings filled with lush and diverse landscapes. You’ll frequently find wild animals along the way and the ancient villages are like nothing you will see in other parts of the country! We’ve created a variety of itineraries that we are sure you will want to include in your holiday package!

Option 1 Paiva Walkways Tour
We will start the day with pickup at your hotel, and take you to the Arouca Geopark, to the famous Paiva Walkways! This 8 kilometer hike is set alongside the Arouca River, so in summer months, you’ll get the change to cool off in its refreshing waters! The walkway itself is made up of innumerous geological, archeological and natural points of interest, providing you with amazing photo opportunities!
Not only will you explore nature, but we’ve also organized some yummy surprises! Firstly, you’ll get to taste the traditional Pinguca, which is a traditional liquor of the region! After the hike, we are sure you will have worked up quite an appetite, and we promise, you won’t be disappointed with lunch! Try the famous Posta Arouquesa – a delicious cut of grilled meat, typical of this region! If by chance you are not a meat eater, no worries! Let us know and we will arrange a non meat option for you!

Option 2 Geres Mountain Hike
Start your day with hotel pickup and a ride to the heart of the Peneda Geres Natural Park! Before you even start hiking, you’ll get to cross the famous bridges of Rio Caldo and Cavado, and our guides will entertain you with stories of history and culture of the region! We will also make stops at Pedra Bela viewpoint, Arado Waterfalls, Vilarinho da Furna Dam and the Geira Roman Way!
During your hike, you’ll get to see the spectacular fauna and flora of the Teixeira Meadow and Lagoon. We’ll also take you along the Albergaria Oak Forest! A true nature lover’s tour that you should not miss!

Option 3 Douro Heritage Tour
Enjoy a day out in one of the loveliest regions of Portugal! Our Douro Heritage Walk allows you the opportunity of visiting the Douro Valley in a unique way! From taking trails along valleys to unpaved walking tracks through vineyards, you’ll surely enjoy this challenging hike!
